Darren has over 30 years’ experience within the construction and passive fire protection industry. His career began with a joinery background and progressed through senior site management roles to leading Alcema Fire Safety, providing him with comprehensive technical and operational expertise across all stages of passive fire protection delivery.

Darren specialises in the inspection, installation, and remediation of passive fire protection systems, with particular focus on fire doors and compartmentation. He has worked extensively in collaboration with third-party accreditation bodies, including BM TRADA and BlueSky, ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with certified standards, industry best practice, and current regulatory requirements.

His experience spans multiple sectors, including student accommodation, care homes, and education facilities and leisure facilities.

Darren’s in-depth technical knowledge enables him to provide clients with clear, practical guidance in response to Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), ensuring they fully understand their legal obligations and the required remedial actions to achieve compliance. His involvement from initial consultation through to final certification provides clients with assurance that works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Darren maintains a strong on-site presence throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective coordination, quality control, and full compliance with third-party accreditation and regulatory requirements.
